Dignity Twin Cities meets for liturgy the second and fourth Fridays of the month at Prospect Park United Methodist Church. The church is one block off of University Ave. SE, just below the "witch's hat" water tower in Prospect Park. There is easy access from I 94. Please see map for details. In general going east or west on University Ave, go to the stop light at Malcolm Ave SE, turn up the hill, or south, and go one block to the chruch. It is across the street from the Pratt Community Center. Park on the street next to the church, or in the Pratt Community Center parking lot.
Our doors open at 7:00pm. On the second Friday of the month we have Mass with a Catholic priest. On the fourth Friday of the month we celebrate our community life with a variety of liturgical forms, and usually have a woman presiding. In 2007, on the fourth Friday of January, March, May, July, September, and November our celebrant will be womanpriest Regina Nicolosi. The liturgy begins at 7:30pm, with a social hour following each liturgy.
It is a little tricky finding the right door. We meet in the chapel, and the door to the chapel can be found by walking up the hill from the main door of the church (double glass doors facing the street) to the first driveway. Walk up the driveway and then follow the wooden, wheelchair accessible ramp up to the brown double doors.
Everyone is welcome! We are a community of Catholic GLBT people, their families and friends, but we welcome everyone who supports lgbt Catholics in their struggle for justice in the Roman Catholic Church. We love to welcome and pray with our heterosexual friends. We are a basic Christian community that meets to pray and work for change in our church. We hope you will join us.
